VIADUCT “CONTESSA” ON S.S. 452 IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUBBIO – ANOTHER SUCCESS SIGNED GPingegneria srl

Reopened to traffic the main link between Gubbio and the Province of Pesaro and Urbino: with a total investment of 6 million euros was demolished the concrete deck of the old viaduct, and built a new steel platform with anti-seismic supports.

The viaduct is 107 meters long, the scaffold has 6 spans with five stacks of maximum height 20 meters. The works required the use of 800 tons of steel, of which 250 for the metal structure of the scaffold and 550 for the reinforcements. Around 2000 cubic metres of concrete were used. Over 1000 cubic metres of reinforced concrete were demolished and recovered

Considering the complexity of the performed interventions, the works were concluded in exceptionally short time thanks to the effort of the GPI technicians who finalized the executive project of the intervention in just 40 days

In detail the processing steps:
– removal of the slab of the old concrete scaffold and dismantling of the beams;
– structural reinforcement of existing batteries by reinforced concrete cladding,
– rehabilitation and reinforcement of the shoulders by the insertion of active tie rods,
– construction of new pulvins and new anti-seismic supports,
– assembly and launching of the metal scaffold consisting of three continuous main beams,
– casting of the new base
– construction of pavements, safety barriers and signs
